About us
Who we are
The Motor Caravan Section is a Special Interest Section of The Camping and Caravanning Club. The section has a number of areas across the UK of which the MCS NI are one. Our area covers Northern Ireland - the eight counties of Ulster. We also host Republic of Ireland members from all over the island of Ireland at many of our meets.
Our organized meets are usually held over the weekends from Friday to Sunday. Most of our meets are held on school and private club properties and include access to an indoor hall or meeting room for socialising, which allows us to meet all year round, irrespective of the Irish weather!
During the Summer months we also hold one or two longer meets - known as temporary holiday sites (THS). These are usually held in the most picturesque areas of Northern Ireland and they are totally flexible - you can attend for the entire duration or for just a few days.
With a few exceptions, you are not required to book our meets in advance or pay a deposit - you need simply turn up and pay your fee (fees range from £12-£15 per unit per night). Most weekend meets run from 5pm on Friday to 12pm on Sunday. All meets include the basic facilities of fresh water and waste disposal, and many include access to toilet facilities also. Many sites are also within walking distance of a town.
Be sure to bring your current membership card for The Camping and Caravanning Club to any meet for registration and insurance purposes.
You can enjoy a quiet weekend or join in the social nights it’s entirely your choice - you will receive a warm and friendly welcome either way. We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you at one of our future meets!
