New direct ferry route announced from Ireland to Spain
Brittany Ferries has announced what it says is the first ever direct ferry link between Ireland and Spain. The Company will operate two direct return sailings weekly from Cork to Santander in Northern Spain from the end of April to November this year. Crossings will take approximately 26 hours with a comfortable no- frills service and will depart from Cork on Wednesdays and Fridays, the ship will carry 500 passengers with space for 195 cars and has 120 cabins for up to four passengers, some of which will be pet-friendly. tickets will go on sale from the end of January.
Some of the MCS meets for next year require duty stewards, without them the club can’t function, whether you have been a steward previously or not please have a go at helping the club by volunteering for one of the 2018 events. Have a look at the meets page select a meet you feel you could do, you will not be left alone in this role committee members are all ways at hand and will assist you at your chosen meet.

takes place on the 20th to 22nd April 2018 at Thornfield High School. There are 3 committee positions available for election for a 2 year period 2018/2020 plus 1 committee position available for 1 year 2018/2019, nomination’s for these positions will open latter in 2018. The MCS 56th National Section’s Annual General 2018;
This Meet takes place on the 1st to 4th June 2018 at the Border Union Showgrounds, George Street, Kelso, TD58AZ Scotland. Entry time 12.30.
Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd = £65, Monday 4th = £10. Temporary Holiday Meet
After a very successful holiday meet last year the committee have agreed to run a Temporary Holiday Site in Newcastle for 2018 the meet will run over 10 days from 6th July to 15th July. We have received some positive fed back from members and visitors from England, Scotland and Italy also commenting on how they enjoyed the venue and the friendliness of the other campers attending, we hope to make this an annual event.
